“We, alumni of the Tanglewood Music Center, join the musicians of the Boston Symphony Orchestra in supporting BSO Music Director Andris Nelsons.
The impact of Andris’s passionate investment in education at the TMC cannot be expressed in words. His endless generosity and deep level of commitment for teaching young musicians has supported countless careers, leading to a brighter future for both those musicians and the institutions they serve around the world. His dismissal signals a lack of care for the core values of the TMC as an institution.
We strongly oppose the decision by the Board of Trustees to the appointment of Maestro Nelsons. We believe in Andris’s vision for the future.”
